For many years, the Order of Riders has existed in secret, protecting and helping the lands surrounding their base, the Rider's Keep. They became legendary to people, the riders remaining elusive, secretive. Some sought out the Keep intentionally; others found it purely by chance. But those who did manage to find it were welcomed into the order, if they bonded with a creature. For decades, the Order was stable. But then, a horrible sickness spread throughout the Keep. The illness affected both riders and their bonds, and in a few short years, the Order was reduced to a handful of members. It was at this time that a small group of Rebels split away from the Order, with the intention of seizing control of all the lands the Riders protected, and to get rid of the Order. They called themselves the Wing of Moonlight. For fifteen long years, the Wing of Moonlight terrorized the lands, destroying villages and capturing people to add to their ranks. The Order of Riders fought fiercely against them, until finally, the Wing fell, and the Kingdoms were safe once more. The Order believed that the people would accept them, as they had before. But the damage the Wing had done was great. With the Order’s defeat of the Wing, people began to question their rulers. If the Order could protect them, why couldn’t they? Fearful of uprisings, the monarchs of the land convinced the people that the Orders were not heroes at all. They claimed that the Order had been in league with the Wing the entire time, and that this had all been an attempt to make them look good. The people turned on the riders they once idolized, and to rid the lands of this “evil”, the countries began to organize groups of slayers, to go out and capture or kill the riders and their bonds. The Order of Riders, weakened from their war with the Wing, were not prepared to face slayers as well. Many riders fell to the slayers, leaving the Order with few members, and vulnerable to attacks. Fearful of being wiped out completely, the Order retreated into hiding. Now outlaws, The riders divided themselves in two. While most of them would remain at their base, The Rider’s Keep, hidden deep in the Siwyn Forest, others formed a new, smaller base, on an island not too far offshore from the Mainland, to ensure that if one group was destroyed, there would always be others to carry on. They remained determined to restore their reputation, and bring an end to the slayers’ attacks on them. Will the Slayers succeed, and wipe out the riders? Or will the Riders recover from their fall from grace, and be able to rebuild and to live without fear as they once did? |Rules|Full Plot|Rider Information|Creature Information|Advertising|
